Harold Hess, M.D. is a Board Certified Neurological Surgeon. He received his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Hess then completed a neurosurgical residency from State University of New York Upstate Medical Center. After this, he completed fellowship training in spinal surgery at the University of Florida in 1988.

He has devoted his career to performing cutting-edge procedures. Dr. Hess was chosen to be one of only a few American investigators in the clinical research trials of the Synthes In-Space™ and the Vertiflex Superion™ interspinous process devices. He is also a member of a select group of American spinal surgeons. These surgeons are chosen to be an investigators in the DePuy Spine (a Johnson & Johnson company) Discover™ Artificial Cervical Disc FDA Clinical Trial. Dr. Hess is married with two children and lives in Leawood, KS.
