Our Innovative Technologies
Minuteman is an interspinous fusion device designed to be implanted through a lateral approach to achieve posterior fusion. It spares native anatomy such as the supraspinous ligament and multifidus muscle, leading to less pain.
Liberty SI is a sacroiliac fusion device designed to transfix, compress and fuse the SI joint through a lateral approach. The anchor wings open inside the sacrum with 20mm of purchase while the compressive body moves the ilium toward the sacrum, compressing and fixating the joint.
Patriot SI is a titanium, posterior SI joint fusion device implanted in-line with the joint, decorticating and preparing the joint for fusion. This canulated system is designed to be repeatable as the implant is inserted directly over the guide wire into the joint. Patriot SI is to be used in conjunction with Liberty SI.
Hero SI is the Hybrid construct combining both the Liberty-SI and Patriot-SI products to create fusion along the entire plane of the SI joint. Patriot is implanted first as the titanium implant prepares the posterior SI joint for fusion, and Liberty-SI compresses and locks the joint in place.
Our History
Spinal Simplicity was founded in 2008 by Dr. Harold Hess, Chief Medical Officer and Neurosurgeon, alongside Todd Moseley, a Co-Founder with three decades of experience in Spine and Orthopedics. From its inception, the company adhered to core values of Integrity, Patient First, Relentless Pursuit of Perfection, and Teamwork, principles that underscore every milestone in its history. In 2011, Spinal Simplicity achieved a significant milestone with the CE Mark in Europe for its flagship product, the Minuteman Interspinous Fusion device, marking its entry into the global market.
The following years saw further advancements as Spinal Simplicity secured FDA clearance for the Minuteman in 2015, enabling commercialization in the United States. The device’s capabilities were expanded in 2021 with an indication for stenosis treatment, enhancing its therapeutic reach. Our most current Minuteman FDA indication for use was cleared in 2023. In late 2023, Spinal Simplicity diversified its portfolio by entering the Sacroiliac (SI) Joint market with the FDA clearance of Liberty-SI, a lateral transfixing implant. Shortly thereafter, the company introduced Patriot-SI, a titanium device designed for posterior intra-articular placement, creating a versatile hybrid construct when used alongside Liberty-SI. The Edge Upper Cervical System was FDA cleared in 2023, shortly following Wolff’s Law Anterior Cervical Plate in 2024.
With over 150 patents granted globally, Spinal Simplicity remains committed to innovation, driven by its unwavering pursuit of perfection and dedication to prioritizing patient care above all else.

The Swiss surgeons and scientists associated with the AO group worked together beginning in the late 1950s to produce an understanding of the requirements for bone healing within the context of fracture fixation. Their contributions have had a lasting impact on the clinical care for fractures worldwide, but in addition their insights have extended beyond the challenges of fracture fixation to providing foundational principles for all orthopedic challenges involving bone.
